Is a Slovenian national, working as the Project Manager for the Civic Freedoms & Human Rights Defenders project with the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre in London, UK. The project explores the role of business in protection of and attacks on civic freedoms and defenders, online and offline. Before joining the Resource Centre, Ana worked as a manager of a fair trade and community development program with the Canadian NGO Mosqoy, working with indigenous communities in the Peruvian Andes. Prior to that, Ana was an advocacy assistant in the EU advocacy team of Human Rights Watch in Brussels, a research assistant for the Slovenian Human Rights Ombudswoman, and a human rights fellow at the EU Delegation to the UN and at the Slovenian Mission to the United Nations. Ana holds a Master's degree from the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC), Italy, and Lund University, Sweden. She has a BA (Summa Cum Laude) in International Development and International Relations from Saint Mary's University, Canada. Her mother tongue is Slovenian, she also speaks fluent English and Spanish, intermediate French and Croatian, and a little bit of Italian. Ana loves dancing, hiking, writing poetry and acting, is passionate about fostering learning within the human rights movement, especially through the integration of theatre techniques.
